Pic. 1 reflects almost the complete range of products in concentrated form: In horizontal direction a square tube linear unit supports the complete application against sideways torsion cross to the adjustment axis. It is equipped with a measuring scale 90 degree displaced to the guiding slit and therefore allows a millimetre accurate position identification. An angle clamp serves as a guide element and at the same time connecting from square- to round tube. By the adjustment lever the vertical linear unit can be solved from the clamping and is then turnable 360 degree around its own axis. This unit owes on its upper end a L-shaped angle gear, which is operated by a driving unit incl. hand wheel. In the travel area a cross-guide element connects an angle-guide element to the diagonal linear unit by a little tube cutting. This linear unit can be also freely positioned by the adjustment lever mounted on the angle-guide element. The measuring scale makes a meter-reading of the position possible. The flange clamp mounted on the end of the unit is the acceptance for e.g. spray heads, print heads, sensors or any other component.
With the help of guide elements with two-sided acceptance 2 axis- and multiple axis systems are realisable with the known INOCON-linear units. Each linear unit is separately displaceable by means of an hand wheel. By using our special guide elements complex adaptations for the construction of multiple axis systems become superfluous. The axis systems are brilliantly suitable for path accuracies in the range of about 0.2 mm, as they are e.g. required in the construction of packaging- and labelling machines. The 2-axis systems show in the pics. 2a and 2b provide for simple adjustments in horizontal and vertical direction by a cross-guide element with two sided acceptance. Pic. 2b has even two guide elements to bear higher loads.
Pic. 3 illustrates a similar application as in pic. 1 with the difference that here a round tube linear unit is used in horizontal direction. This allows the skewing of the vertical part in the mounting clamps (joint clamps) at the ends of the linear unit.
A practical 2-axis system for rough- and fine adjustment of an ink-jet system is presented in pics. 4 and 5: The system is based on a square tube with a square flange clamp and a square/round cross clamp. These both elements enable a rough adjustment in vertical (cross) and horizontal (flange) direction. The fine adjustment is guaranteed by two linear units, which are connected by a cross-guide element and offer millimetre accurate positioning by two position indicators and hand wheels. At the end of the horizontal linear unit a print head is adapted with the help of a joint clamp. With this clamp the print head can be freely positioned about 180 degree and axially about 360 degree. So any adjustment is possible and the device can be adapted flexibly to any situation.
Telescope-linear unit with sideways angle gear
The new INOCON-Telescope-linear unit with sideways angle gear has the essential advantage that both tube ends can be used freely. Therefore vertical applications are possible even without any guide element and by the flange area on top higher loads can be height adjusted as it is possible with usual guide elements in vertical direction. This example consists of a telescope-linear unit of diameter 40/50, i.e. the outer tube is diameter 50 mm and is constructed for maximum guiding length in comparison to the travel of the linear unit diameter 40 mm. So the slit of the linear unit is hidden within outer tube and thus optimal protected against impurity.
Stabilised, guided and if required fixed in working position are both tubes by a sleeve clamp with each acceptance for both diameters. The sideways angle gear in the new clamp-version comprises the driving unit and the operation possibility by hand wheel. The length of the driving unit is variable so that it can also become a transmission unit for bridging longer distances.
Angle gear applications with transmission- /driving units
A typical application of transmission- and driving units with angle gears is shown in pic. 1: Two parallel linear units are connected by a transmission unit and two L-shaped angle gears. One more angle gear is used here to operate the complete construction by hand wheel and driving unit. The cross-guide elements are often used as acceptance for e.g. side adjustments on conveyer belts.
Pic. 2 illustrates a more complex application with two different types of angle gear boxes: From the two vertical linear units on the right and left side there are diverting each one angle gear in a transmission unit in horizontal direction. These modified angle clamps are the newest type of L-shaped gear casings and are characterized by their compactness and uniform clamp design.
In the centre of the horizontal transmission units there is the T-shaped angle gear made of galvanised steel plates (detail: pic. 3). This construction enables a central operation by the driving unit incl. hand wheel attached on the T-shaped angle gear. The flange-guide elements assembled on the linear units have the flange area directed to the outside to accept your application.
Another example offers the assembly stand shown in pic. 4, which is height adjustable by a hand wheel. The application consists of two parallel linear units with each one arm accepted by an upper angle- and a lower joint-guide element. These arms can bear a work plate e.g. mounted on the flange plates. The diagonal back braces allow the acceptance of higher loads. The linear units are connected by a transmission unit, each one L-shaped and one T-Shaped angle gear made of aluminium. A driving unit incl. hand wheel is to be found on the T-shaped angle gear, too. As a substructure was chosen a very solid version, because based on square tubes with high torsion rigidity. The universal round/square angle clamp makes the step from the vertical to the horizontal possible. The application stands on adjustable feet as a part of our assortment. For transport purposes there are optionally provided screwed fork lift pockets.
